Nakedize is into uncovering simple solutions to significant problems (such as poor written communication skills). Ours is a kind of
slow philosophy. We are discerning and, above all, we value
quality over quantity.
We also value (from the macro to the micro):
- thinking and exploring
- appreciating and enjoying
- clarifying
- improving (not 'continuous improvement' though, that's not possible)
- preserving and rejuvenating
- organizing and clarifying
- designing and crafting
- powerful prose and pictures
- fine words
- colons, semi-colons, hyphens, and other under-valued punctuation marks
Our primary expertise is in
written communication. We know what works — and why — and we love to share that knowledge.
Simon is the wordsmith and
Jeroen is the graphics guru. Our biographies spell out our credentials.
Supporting this expertise is knowledge of two core subjects,
human needs and
strong sustainability. When critiquing a document, a project, a goal, a process, or a brand, we need to understand what optimal looks like (and it isn't merely 'correct') in order to provide you with the best advice.
People and society are the common ingredients to everything we create, teach, or critique and, again, we have a pretty good idea of what works — and why — and not just in one country at one time. We have always tried to learn from others and from the lessons of the past. And we are not afraid to imagine a better future, or to help lead the transition.
As our biographies show and
client list show, we have
professional experience, but we also have more than our fair share of
life experience (for which we are both very grateful).
Jeroen and I have both spent more than seven years living outside of our native countries (New Zealand and The Netherlands, respectively). In total, we have visited 46 countries. We appreciate the different ways people around the world conduct their lives. We have seen wisdom and ignorance the world over — magic and mischief too.
We are both husbands and fathers (I have two daughters, Jeroen has three) and we both love and value our families. We also value community and are active participants in strong and vibrant communities. We're present. We're connected.
Our independence is purposeful and essential. We are committed to many things 'close to home', but we maintain an openness towards the universals of life: politics and religion. We are commercially independent.
